Geshkenbein bested a field that included Tony G, the Devilfish, Tom Dwan, Luke Schwartz, Annette Obrestad, Peter Eastgate, JC Tran and Ian Frazer to win the event, beating TV poker veteran Juha Helppi in the final. The aggressive Russian pummelled Helppi into submission in their match to win the $120,000 first prize. He also beat Alex Keating, Brahim Hajji, David Steicke and James Sudworth on his way to the final.
